The technology
that disappears.

We design enterprise-grade automation, access and atmosphere into the world's most beautiful spaces — then make every trace of it vanish into the architecture.

Watch it change

One space.
Four moments in a day.

Select a time of day and see how the system responds — light, blinds, climate and music shifting without a single tap.

The problem with "smart"

Most automation announces itself — plastic sensors, wall keypads, glowing panels. It solves for control and ruins the room.

We solve for the opposite. Sensors hide behind timber veneers we fabricate in-house. Lighting shifts on its own. Doors open to a tap or a glance. The space simply responds — and you never see why.

The edit

What no longer
has to be visible.

We make the hardware that can disappear, disappear. Physical controls, panels and screens stay wherever you want them — what goes is the clutter that serves no design purpose.

Light switches Presence-aware dimming — lights respond without them
Key safes & fobs Keyless entry — phone, biometric, or card
Alarm keypads Perimeter and occupancy sensing, concealed in the frame
Exposed sensor housings mmWave and environmental sensing, behind plaster
Power boards & extension leads Structured cabling run within the walls
Visible cable runs Clean walls — nothing on the surface
Smart speaker hubs on benches Architectural audio concealed in the ceiling
Wall thermostats Climate automated by occupancy — or a discreet panel if you prefer
Remote controls Scene control if you want it — or the space just handles it
What's possible

Automation worth the name.

Not "an app to turn on a light." These are the kinds of quiet, intelligent moments we design — where the space reads the situation and simply does the right thing.

Arrival, after dark

The house greets you, not the neighbourhood.

Your car turns into the street and only the path and entry wake — a soft, low welcome, not a floodlit announcement. Inside, the rooms you're likely to use ease up to evening warmth while the rest stay dark.

Morning, gradually

The home wakes the household, gently.

Bedroom light warms ten minutes before the alarm, blinds ease open to the weather, the bathroom floor is already warm, and coffee starts as your feet hit the floor — each person's morning, on their own schedule.

Film starts

One word sets the whole room.

"Movie." The lights fall to a low glow, blinds close, the screen drops, audio wakes, and the hallway keeps a dim safe path to the kitchen — a single intention, a dozen quiet actions.

Nobody home

The house looks lived-in while you're away.

Lights, blinds and music follow believable daily patterns, deliveries are caught on camera, and if something's genuinely wrong you get one clear message — not fifty notifications. Core functions keep running even if the internet goes down.

Late night, half asleep

Get up at 3am and only the floor glows.

Presence sensing lights a soft, low path to the bathroom — never the harsh overhead, never waking your partner — then fades it behind you. The house knows the difference between 3am and 3pm.

Guests arriving

The space is ready before the doorbell.

"Hosting" warms the living and dining zones, sets music to the right level, unlocks the powder room, eases the climate for a fuller room, and gives guests a temporary entry code that expires when the night ends.

Our craft

We don't buy housings.
We make them vanish.

Standard installers screw in off-the-shelf plastic. We photograph the exact timber, stone or brass in your space, then run it through two machines in our own studio. A 3D printer builds the housing's form; a UV printer lays your material's grain and texture onto its surface in fine layers — so each piece is colour-matched to your palette and texture-matched to the grain of the wall it sits in. Not hidden. Invisible.

Never locked in.
Always the right system.

We aren't tied to any one manufacturer — so we have no reason to push a brand that pays us. We choose each component on one basis only: what's genuinely best for you. And because nothing is proprietary, your system can grow and adapt for years, not lock you into a dead end.

  • The best of every brand. We mix and match across the whole market to assemble the right system for your space — not whatever one vendor happens to sell.
  • It grows around you.Add a room, a new device or a whole renovation later — the system expands to take it in, instead of forcing a rip-and-replace.
  • No proprietary trap.No locked ecosystem, no compulsory monthly licence, no being held hostage by a single dealer to make a change.
  • Future-proof & yours.Built on open foundations and a local brain, so as technology moves on, your system keeps pace — and it always belongs to you.
The usual way

One brand's hardware, one dealer, one app. Want something they don't sell? You're stuck. Want a change? You wait — and you pay their licence to keep it running.

The Velospatial way

✓ The best component for each job, chosen for you — woven into one system on an open, local foundation that grows, adapts and stays yours for the long run.

Control, on your terms

Your space, in the apps
you already use.

The system runs itself — but when you want a say, it speaks your language. We integrate with the platforms you already know, or design you a dashboard of your own. One system underneath, surfaced wherever suits you.

Apple Home

iPhone, iPad, Watch & Siri
  • Lights, locks, blinds, climate & scenes in the Home app
  • "Hey Siri, goodnight" — voice for the whole home
  • Control from your wrist with Apple Watch
  • Household sharing for family & guests

Google Home

Android, Nest & voice
  • Full control from the Google Home app
  • Hands-free voice control, room by room
  • Nest hubs & speakers as household controls
  • Routines that follow your day

Custom dashboards

Powered by Home Assistant
  • Wall-mounted panels designed to match your interior
  • Bespoke layouts — exactly what you want, nothing more
  • Every system, live, in one considered view
  • Local-first & private, like everything we build

Prefer no app at all? Even better. The space responds on its own — the apps are there for when you want a say.

What we do that others won't

The hard things most installers skip.

Anyone can mount a sensor on a wall — that's an installer's job. Making it disappear into your home takes more time, more care and more skill than most are willing to give, which is exactly why so few do.

We fabricate a housing to match your material.

We photograph your timber, stone or brass and print its grain onto each housing in our own studio, so the hardware reads as part of the wall — not a box bolted onto it.

Most installers

Fit the off-the-shelf white plastic enclosure it shipped in.

We build the core to work without the internet.

Your home runs on a local brain, so the fundamentals — lights, doors, climate and scenes — keep working in an internet outage. Some features, like voice assistants and external data feeds, still need connectivity, and we're upfront about which.

Most installers

Lean on the cloud because it's easier — so it fails the moment the internet does.

We tell you what not to automate.

Restraint is the luxury. We design the few moments that should feel effortless and leave the rest beautifully alone, instead of automating everything because we can.

Most installers

Sell you every feature on the list — the more boxes, the bigger the invoice.

We won't compromise the concealment.

If a sensor can't be hidden cleanly behind your finish, we move it, recess it, or rework the approach. We don't ship a visible shortcut to hit a deadline.

Most installers

Leave it on show when concealing it gets difficult.

We choose the best component, not the one that pays us.

We're tied to no manufacturer, so every device is picked on one basis only — what's genuinely right for your space — and woven into one open system that grows with you.

Most installers

Fit one brand's ecosystem, one app, one dealer — and lock you to it.

How it works

From first conversation to a space that disappears.

A considered process, not a sales funnel. Here's what working with the studio actually looks like, start to finish.

01

Conversation

We start by understanding the space, how you live or work in it, and what should feel effortless. If there's an architect or designer involved, we join that conversation early — the best outcomes happen when technology is considered alongside the design, not bolted on after.

No obligation · Melbourne & remote
02

Design & proposal

We design the system around your space and materials, then give you a clear, fixed-scope proposal — what we'd install, where it's concealed, how it behaves, and exactly what it costs. No surprises, no vague estimates that balloon later.

Detailed · fixed scope · transparent
03

Fabrication

We photograph your actual timber, stone or brass and fabricate each housing in our own studio to match it — colour and texture — so every sensor, reader and control disappears into the surface it sits on. This is the step most installers skip, and the one that makes the difference.

In-house · material-matched · 1-of-1
04

Installation

We integrate everything ourselves, coordinating with your builder and trades where needed, and commission it on a local-first platform so it all answers to a single, invisible brain. Clean cabling, concealed hardware, nothing left on show.

Coordinated · concealed · local-first
05

Living with it & ongoing care

We hand over a space anyone can use without a manual, then stay available — tweaks, additions and support come from the studio that built it, not an outsourced help desk. Optional care plans keep the system monitored, updated and maintained for years.

Security by default

The hardware in your home should work for you.
Not for someone else.

Connected devices from unvetted manufacturers frequently ship with backdoors already built in — renting out your home internet to criminals and participating in cyberattacks you'll never know about. A Wall Street Journal investigation found millions of devices doing this straight from the box. We vet every component before we specify it, and we only work with manufacturers we'd trust in our own home.

  • No unverified hardware. We only specify devices from manufacturers with auditable production and a known security posture — never cheap sourced-online products of unknown provenance.
  • Enterprise-grade brands only.Ubiquiti, Axis, HID, Lutron, Hanwha — manufacturers with independent security research programmes, responsible CVE disclosure, and enterprise accountability.
  • Local-first architecture.Your system runs on hardware inside your building. Nothing depends on an overseas server staying honest — and the fundamentals keep working if the internet goes down.
  • Ongoing vigilance. We track security advisories for every product category we install and contact clients when firmware or hardware needs attention — not just at handover.
For architects & designers

You design the space. We make the technology disappear into it.

We partner with practices who care how a room looks and feels — handling the technical layer invisibly, so it completes your vision instead of competing with it.

  • We never compete on design. We don't choose finishes or layouts — we realise yours. You stay the creative author on every project.
  • We make you look good. Concealed, reliable, material-matched technology protects the thing you care about most: how the finished space reads.
  • A referral fee on every project. A straightforward spec arrangement for work you bring us — aligned, transparent, no surprises.
  • A referral partner, not a competitor. We work alongside architects and designers, not around them. Brief us early and we make the recommendation easy to stand behind.
  • One specialist, end to end. Network, access, lighting, audio, climate and fabrication under one roof — fewer trades for you to coordinate.
